Viking Stock
The Norseman knocked over neighbors at night
Loved their ladies, left little ones,
Tall terrors undid the tight tresses.
Long men unlatched the loose doors,
Red-haired, these rapists redoubled their riches.
Wreaked havoc along rivers removed
From their homeland, made fortunes, most fearsome.
Their women were warriors, wondrous tall wenches
These bore the babes and farmed the broad fields,
Wielded swords and wore armor annealed.
But now gentle Norway ne’er bothers their neighbors.
Thanes’ sons throughout Europe stand tall.
Their legacy lingers, long, broad, and blond.
